This 1996 Honda Z50J is one of a limited number of examples produced for the Japanese market, and imported to the US in March 2024. It is finished in gold chrome and is equipped with a 49cc single, a four-speed transmission, street lighting, a horn, a black solo seat, a rear parcel rack, twist-lock folding handlebars, silver-finished 8″ steel wheels, drum brakes, full suspension with an inverted fork, and a side stand.
The fuel tank, fenders, headlight assembly, turn-signal housings, fork uppers, side cover, exhaust heat shield, and shock springs are finished in gold chrome and are accented by enameled “LTD Z50J” and vintage-style Honda-wing badging. Features include a black solo seat, a headlight, mirrors, a taillight, turn signals, a black-finished rear rack, and a side stand.
Multi-piece 8″ steel wheels are finished in silver and wear IRC Tractor Grip tires. Braking is handled by front and rear drums, and suspension consists of an inverted fork as well as dual shocks mounted to the swingarm.
A pair of twist-lock knobs permit the handlebars to drop and stow for transport or storage. A Nippon Seiki 60-km/h speedometer that displays recommended shift points is situated atop the headlight bucket and between a keyed ignition switch and the neutral and speed-warning lights. The four-digit odometer shows 2 kilometers.
The horizontal 49cc four-stroke single is equipped with a Keihin carburetor and a kick starter as well as a high-mounted exhaust system with dual heat shields, the uppermost of which is slotted and finished in gold chrome.
Power is routed to the rear wheel through a four-speed manual transmission as well as a drive chain.
Included in the sale is a “Honda Monkey Z50”-branded helmet featuring gold and chrome accents along with two keys, spare parts, and Japanese-market literature.
