This 2005 Ducati 999R is powered by a liquid-cooled 999cc Testastretta desmodromic L-twin paired with a six-speed transmission, the bike is finished in red with white accents. It is equipped with a red-finished steel trellis frame, carbon-fiber bodywork, a monoposto tail section, Marelli fuel injection, a Termignoni exhaust system, an adjustable Ohlins steering damper, Ohlins suspension, triple disc brakes with Brembo calipers, and Marchesini 17″ forged alloy wheels as well as a SpeedyMoto billet upper triple clamp, SpeedyMoto front-axle and frame sliders, and a side stand. Service in preparation for the sale included flushing the brake fluid, replacing the timing belts and spark plugs, and changing the oil. The bike comes with a clean title and the original owner’s manuals.
The Pierre Terblanche-designed bodywork is constructed of carbon fiber and finished in red over a red-painted steel trellis frame. Features include a 4.1-gallon fuel tank, a clear windscreen, stacked headlights, fairing-mounted turn-signal mirrors, rear-set foot controls, a monoposto tail section with white graphics, and a black solo seat with a rear bumper pad along with a side stand.
Marchesini 17″ forged alloy wheels are finished in black and wrapped in Dunlop Sportmax Q3 tires. Adjustable Ohlins suspension consists of an inverted 43mm fork with titanium nitride-coated stanchions in addition to a piggyback monoshock attached to the swingarm via a progressive linkage. Braking is provided by radially mounted four-piston Brembo calipers fitted over dual 320mm discs up front and a two-piston caliper mounted over a single 240mm disc at the rear. The brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale.
Clip-on handlebars carrying bar-end weights, Brembo brake and clutch master cylinder assemblies, and adjustable levers are secured beneath the SpeedyMoto billet top triple clamp, which anchors an Ohlins piston-type steering damper connected to the frame on the right. A Magneti Marelli 13k-rpm tachometer sits above a multifunction LCD screen that displays speed, coolant temperature, battery voltage, and time. The digital odometer shows 883 miles.
The liquid-cooled 999cc Testastretta L-twin features Marelli electronic fuel injection along with four desmodromically-actuated titanium valves per cylinder, and it produced 150 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque when new. The Termignoni two-into-one-into-two exhaust system is fitted with carbon-fiber heat shields and a dual-outlet under-tail muffler. Service in preparation for the sale involved replacing the timing belts and spark plugs as well as changing the oil.
